WNUESD Board Members
Why I am on the Grafton School Board is for the children attending, the staff that teaches, and the communities of Grafton and Athens to keep the school viable for the future. The school is the heart of our community.
I serve on the WNUESD board because I have enjoyed working with the children of this area for over 40 years as a Sunday School teacher, substitute teacher/aid in the WNESU, high school teacher in New Hampshire, Good News Club leader, and naturalist with The Nature Museum in Grafton. I have a BA in biology and a Masters in environmental education. My goal is to be helpful in contributing to changes within the education system that will meet the ever-changing and variable needs of our children's education and their safety.
This is my second year on the WNUESD Board. I have over 40 years of financial experience in a business environment and I joined the board to hopefully utilize my experience in a way to help guide our school through some difficult times related to declining enrollments. My goal is to make sure that our school remains a viable entity for the children of Athens & Grafton as they are arguably getting the best education K-6 of anywhere in the state of Vermont.
I have lived in Grafton for 14 years. I have three kids, two former students of GES (now at BFUHS) and one current student of GES. I hope to bring a parent's perspective to the board.
