Rockingham Board Members
Although I was for many years a blueberry farmer and maple syrup producer, I became interested in teaching because I felt that education offered an escape for many families working to overcome generational poverty. I still hold this belief although I now understand how the effects of social and economic injustice can make even accessing the PreK-12 public education system difficult for groups of people that have been systematically discriminated against over time as well as for any people experiencing poverty.
I started teaching at Flood Brook Union School and later served six years as the principal at the Saxtons River Elementary School. I concluded my educational career serving twelve years in the central office at the WNESU, five as superintendent. I hold a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Educational Leadership at Union Institute and University. I retired several years ago and now reside at my family’s farm near Saxtons River.
I encourage others to consider running for the school board in Rockingham and in the WNESU. If enough progressively minded people step up, we can really make a difference. Please contact me if you have an interest in becoming involved.
As a mother to a future WNESU student, I care deeply about supporting our students, teachers, and schools. I grew up attending a small regional school system, and I have spent the past 10 years working with districts and state education agencies across the country in my role at The New Teacher Project. In my personal and professional life, I've seen the difference that involved and caring community members can make in students' lives, and I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to our schools.
I am a life-long learner with a deep appreciation for the value of education. My background in finance and leadership is useful in the Board's role as overseer of the Rockingham Schools. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
My name is Bill Morse and I am a retired public school teacher and Navy veteran. I would like to see more students in our schools become enthused readers and lovers of history. Please reach out to me with any questions or concerns you may have. Thank you.
